Club100 is one of the most progressive cycling clubs in the country moving from an exclusively road biased club to having a significant membership of mountain bikers.
In the early days, the MTB side of the club catered almost exclusively for experienced cross-country racers, evidenced by Club100 having the most teams entered for the Cape-Epic for 2004, 2005 and 2006. We found that we were not however looking after all our mountain biking members and since January 2008, we have increased our focus to the average biker and the enjoyment of the sport.
This development within the Club has resulted in phenomenal growth in our MTB numbers and we now cater for most levels of riders, from the absolute novice to the cross-country racing elites as well as the extreme adrenaline junkies doing freeride and downhill.
We have weekly club rides on Saturdays and Sundays from the Mugg n Bean in Paulshof, and we have a number of consistent club routes which we use to maximise the safety of our members and keeping the ride routes fresh and interesting. There will also be MTB training rides on certain weekday mornings, and a real favourite is the Friday morning surf n turf ride which is half on road and half along the Braamfontein Spruit. We share this ride with some of the other clubs in the region as there is safety in numbers. You will need lights for this one, especially during the colder and darker winter months, but it is certainly an excellent way to kick off your weekend.

For the more recreational riders there are rides leaving from the Clubhouse area at Northern Farm on Saturday & Sunday mornings at 07h00 in summer & 08h00 in winter. You will need to purchase a Northern Farm access card to gain access to Northern Farm.
A promising initiative undertaken by members of the Club is the MTB Novice Ride/Skills Clinic, which are held at Northern Farm on the 1st Sunday of each month. These are aimed primarily at teaching essential mountain biking skills to novice riders.
Our club boasts a MTB specific committee consisting of passionate mountain bikers who share the dreams and passions of our mountain biking colleagues, but also who work very hard to ensure that the club is always looking out for you, and improving on the benefits of the club for our members. But the committee does need your assistance. Communicate your views with us. We can handle constructive criticism and are always keen for new ideas.
We have a weekly newsletter, which keeps members appraised of developments, rides and news that you will find both entertaining and very informative.
