What can you expect?
The actual route for the day will depend on the numbers attending as safety of our members is paramount. The routes that are available include the following:-
- A cruise at Northern Farms - choose from a 20 or 40km lap on farm roads
which is the ideal training ground for beginners. Contact Simon Nash for more information and organised ride times.
There will be a ride captain on these rides. The pace on these rides will vary according to the strength of the group. No-one will be left behind. If the group is fragmented on a climb, the group will stop at the top and wait for everyone.
WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?
Contribute to the group by attending the rides you say you are going to attend. Remember, to have a consistent group to ride with needs riders. There are people sacrificing their training rides to make sure you have the facility of a safe, coordinated and marshalled ride, so please arrive. Wear your Club100 kit. Make sure your bike is in reasonable mechanical order. Ladies, don't be afraid to ask the gents on the ride to help you learn how to put a chain back on, or to fix a puncture. Look after one-another. Invite your friends and family. If they aren't members yet, get them to ride with us a couple of times to see whether they would like to join up. We will allow non-members and guests to ride with us for a month after which we will request them to sign up to continue enjoying the hard work of the contributing club members.
HAVE FUN!
Don't forget to regularly visit this website where we will endeavour to keep as much information about rides that are available and developments with regard to MTB. We would love to hear from you if you have any suggestions and funny stories about any rides. Also, send us your pictures.
